Clint Butler on becoming a dangerous SEO with schema & PBNs

On this week’s episode of the Niche Website Builders podcast, host James De Lacey talks with guest Clint Butler. Like last week’s guest, Clint Butler is a regular on the SEO Fight Club podcast, and is well known for the dark arts of SEO.

James and Clint dive into these dark arts SEO secrets, as well as dispelling some myths around SEO. Specifically, the guys cover schema markup, and how you can use schema to boost your rankings. They also talk about the tricky business of online reputation management as a niche website builder, including what you can do to improve the positive things on google about you and about your brand.

Later on, Clint and James talk about “negative SEO”. What is it, does it exist, how do you know if it’s happening? Clint shares all his insight on this topic, as well as some tips for things you can do to protect yourself from negative SEO.

The guys also dive into PVNs, or mini-networks, which work as a sort of digital moat, surrounding certain niche websites and linking them together. Clint hares his advice on the best way to use this technique for yourself and your niche website portfolio.

Finally, James and Cline talk launch-jacking, and how to launch new sites and drive initial sales. The guys also talk about link building, and have a discussion around authority vs relevance, and how anchor text is key for your links strategy.

I’m Redesigning My Website. Will My SEO Rankings Suffer? Actionable SEO Tips

Schedule a time

If you want to redesign your site, how will it reflect on the traffic and leads? What will it mean for SEO? In this video, we’ll answer this question and share some actionable SEO tips for small business.

To answer this question, we need to understand how Google looks at website redesign and how SEO works when you are changing a website.

Rule of thumb: clean doesn’t have much to Google. You can have a clean design but it won’t mean a thing if there’s no good content.

If you remove the content while redesigning your site, all the indexation that took place over time will be gone. Google simply will not have anything to index so it will start deindexation. And it can get you in much bigger trouble than a bad design.

How to avoid that traffic drop?

If you want to make sure that you preserve the traffic and the leads, plan as much as possible in advance, make sure that you’re not losing any of the content, and work with an SEO specialist to map out the changes.

Save all of your pages and all the content with meta tags and descriptions, save the URL structure. The only thing that should be changing on the new site is the design, not the content.

Hopefully, this video gave you a better idea of how to approach the redesign of your website smartly.
